CIAA Announces Volleyball Weekly Honors
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 29, 2026) – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA®) has announced its Volleyball Weekly Honors, recognizing outstanding performances from Elizabeth City State University, Livingstone College, Fayetteville State University and Winston-Salem State University. This week's honorees include three repeat award winners, with Jazzmyn Davis and Mya Hejl earning their second weekly honors of the season and Tialofa Alofipo claiming Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
The CIAA Volleyball Weekly Honors are voted on by the CIAA Sports Information Director Association.
CIAA VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS
Rookie of the Week – Jazzmyn Davis, Elizabeth City State
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Charlotte, N.C.
Davis continued her strong freshman campaign, helping Elizabeth City State complete an undefeated week in CIAA play. She totaled 24 kills, highlighted by a team-high 16 kills in a victory at Bowie State, while also adding a block.
Defensive Player of the Week – Tialofa Alofipo, Livingstone
Alofipo led the Blue Bears' defense with 52 digs, averaging 4.73 digs per set, while adding five service aces and eight assists. Her week was highlighted by an impressive 36-dig performance against Claflin, earning her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Offensive Player of the Week – Mya Hejl, Fayetteville State
Junior | Middle Blocker | Valley Springs, S.D.
Hejl delivered a dominant offensive performance for Fayetteville State, totaling a team-high 30 kills and 31.5 points across eight sets. She averaged 3.75 kills per set while hitting an impressive .553, committing just four errors on 47 attacks.
Setter of the Week – Zaria Keys, Winston-Salem State
Junior | Setter | Chicago, Ill.
Keys directed Winston-Salem State's offense through two competitive five-set matches, totaling 68 assists, 29 digs and two service aces. She recorded a week-high 48 assists against Bluefield State, helping the Rams produce 63 kills, before adding 20 assists against Fayetteville State.
2026 CIAA Volleyball Championship
The 47th CIAA Volleyball Championship will be held November 9–11, 2026, at the Rocky Mount Event Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The top eight CIAA teams will meet to compete for the conference title and the opportunity to be crowned the 2026 CIAA Volleyball Champion.
