CIAA Announces Volleyball Weekly Honors
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 15, 2026) – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA®) has announced its Volleyball Weekly Honors for the third week of the 2026 season. Elizabeth City State University, Claflin University and Virginia State University are represented among this week’s honorees.
The CIAA Volleyball Weekly Honors are voted on by the CIAA Sports Information Director Association.
CIAA VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS
Rookie of the Week – Jazzmyn Davis, Elizabeth City State
Freshman | Opposite Side Hitter | Charlotte, N.C.
Davis continued her strong freshman campaign at the Concord Classic, totaling 19 kills and four digs across three matches. She delivered a career-high eight kills to help lead Elizabeth City State to a three-set victory over Davis & Elkins and added seven and four kills in the Vikings’ other two matches.
Defensive Player of the Week – Abigail Watts, Claflin
Sophomore | Defensive Specialist/Libero | Raeford, N.C.
Watts anchored Claflin’s back row during a 2-2 showing at the CBU Patriot Day Classic, leading the Lady Panthers with 51 digs across four matches. She recorded 16 digs against LeMoyne-Owen, 15 against Miles and 14 against Christian Brothers, while adding two service aces.
Offensive Player of the Week – Gracie Darville, Virginia State
Junior | Outside Hitter | Woodbridge, Va.
Darville recorded 30 kills during Virginia State’s appearance at the Lock Haven Classic. After facing a triple block against Lock Haven, she responded with 16 kills against Thomas Jefferson and 12 against Edinboro, leading the Trojans’ offensive attack throughout the weekend.
Setter of the Week – Nadia Embry, Claflin
Sophomore | Setter | Atlanta, Ga.
Embry guided Claflin’s offense during a 2-2 week, recording a team-high 67 assists across four matches. She totaled 14 assists against Miles, 15 each against Christian Brothers and Southern New Hampshire, and a weekend-high 23 against LeMoyne-Owen.
2026 CIAA Volleyball Championship
The 47th CIAA Volleyball Championship will be held November 9–11, 2026, at the Rocky Mount Event Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The top eight CIAA teams will meet to compete for the conference title and the opportunity to be crowned the 2026 CIAA Volleyball Champion.
