CIAA Volleyball Round Up 2 – Day One Recap

Bowie, MD - (October 18, 2025) – The CIAA Volleyball Round Up got underway Saturday at Bowie State University, bringing all 12 conference teams together for an action-packed opening day. From start to finish, fans were treated to intense rallies and standout performances as several squads notched decisive sweeps to kick off the weekend in strong fashion.

Day One Highlights
  • Multiple sweeps: Claflin, Winston-Salem State, Bowie State, and Fayetteville State all recorded straight-set wins.
  • The top two seeds in the Southern Division, Fayetteville State and Winston-Salem State both posted 2-0 records on the day and will look to finish the weekened undefeated tomorrow.
  • Bowie State and Johnson C. Smith both went 1-0 on the day and will compete in two matches tomorrow, including one against each other.
  • The Northern Division's top three seeds, Virginia State, Bluefield State, and Virginia Union all suffered losses on day one, leaving the top three standings the same.
