CHARLOTTE, NC (October 17, 2025) - The excitement is heating up on the court as the CIAA’s second Volleyball Round-Up of the season takes place this weekend at Bowie State University. All 12 institutions will converge at A.C. Jordan Arena for two action-packed days of competition, showcasing top-tier talent and high-energy matchups that could shape the road to the 2025 CIAA Volleyball Championship, now just over a month away.
In the Northern Division, Virginia State has found its rhythm, rebounding from a slow start to win six of its last seven matches, all in conference play, putting the Trojans atop the division standings. Bluefield State and Virginia Union are close behind, locked in a battle for second place as they aim to close the gap this weekend.
Over in the Southern Division, the race is even tighter. Fayetteville State, Winston-Salem State, and defending CIAA champions Shaw University are all sitting at 3-1 in conference play, creating a three-way tie for first. Each program will look to make a statement and create separation in a highly competitive division that remains wide open.
With championship implications on the line and every team hungry to rise in the ranks, this weekend’s CIAA Volleyball Round-Up at Bowie State is one fans won’t want to miss.
