FOOD LION MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Mychael Tucker, Virginia Union

Mychael Tucker secured 2nd place overall in the 200m dash with a time of 22.06 seconds. He was also part of the 4x400m relay team that achieved second place with a time of 3:18.99. Additionally, Tucker was a member of the 4x100m relay team that finished 4th with a time of 41.74 seconds at the Livingston Blue Bear Invitational at Livingstone College.

FOOD LION MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Zachary Jones, Virginia Union
(Fr. -Chester, VA) 

Zachary Jones earned 1st place and set a personal outdoor record mark of 15.04 meters in the shot put. Additionally, Jones secured 4th place in the men's discus throw with a throw of 140 feet and 11 inches at the Livingston Blue Bear Invitational at Livingston College.

FOOD LION WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Hayleigh Bryant, Winston-Salem State
(Fr. -Greensboro, NC)

Hayleigh had another great week for the Rams at the Livingstone Invitational. She ran a 23.89 in the 200m finishing in first place which places her #9 in Div. II, no. 1 in the Atlantic Region, and no. 1 in the CIAA. Her performance was also a stadium and meet record. Bryant also ran in the 400m finishing in second place with a time of 56.96. Bryant's performance was a personal best and placed her at no. 5 in the Atlantic Region. To close out the day, she ran the anchor leg for the 4x100-meter relay, which finished first with a time of 45.71 seconds and ranked fifth in Divi. II.

Yassine Kamara, Bowie State 
(Sr. -Hyattsville, MD)

Yassine earned a pair of first place finishes in the shot put at 13.54m and in the discus throw 46.00m (National Qualifying mark) this weekend at the Seahawk Invitational. Yassine is currently ranked no. 2 in the Women Shot Put and no. 1 in the Women Discus.
