He finished first in the 1500m at Mount Olive University with a 3:57.84, which is the fastest time in the CIAA. Desmond also ran the 800m at Duke University on Saturday and ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:50.88. This places him at number one in the CIAA, number three in the Atlantic Region and 25th in the NCAA Div II. FOOD LION MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Joseph Briscoe, Virginia State University (Jr. -Portland, Jamaica) Briscoe has won the high Jump for the second week in a row with another NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark. He jumped a personal best 2.08m (6ft 9 ¾). He is currently ranked 21st in Div II ranking. He is currently ranked number one in the Atlantic Region and the CIAA. FOOD LION WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Brianna Benloss, Winston-Salem State University (Fr. -Charlotte, N.C.) Brianna had a stellar weekend for the Rams at the SC “Sharonda Coleman” Classic hosted by South Carolina State. She won the 100m with a NCAA Qualifying time of 11.81 which puts her second in the CIAA and second in the Atlantic Region. Benloss also finished second in the 200m (24.67) making her the top DII athlete. Later in the evening, she ran the second leg of the 4x100 relay team which finished in first place with a time of 46.75. FOOD LION WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Yassine Kamara, Bowie State University (Sr. -Hyattsville, MD) For the second time this season, Bowie State's Yassine Kamara picked up first place finishes in the discus and shot put. Yassine threw a mark of 13.72m in the shot put for first place while in the discus, she tossed a mark of 47.72m for the gold.
