CIAA Announces Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors #1 12/8/2023 12:00:00 PM Share: 2023-24 Coca-Cola CIAA Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors #1 2023-2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Qualifying List 2023-2024 Atlantic Region Indoor List 2023-2024 CIAA Indoor List ATHLETES OF THE WEEK For the week ending December 3, 2023 FOOD LION MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Matthew Blackmon, Livingstone (Jr. - Melbourne, FL) On December 1st Matthew Blackmon ran two NCAA Provisional qualifying marks in the 60 meter Hurdles at the Liberty Kickoff. He ran 8.20 seconds in the prelims then 8.11 seconds in the finals to lower his provisional qualifying mark. Matthew placed 3rd in the event only behind two ACC athletes. Currently Matthew is ranked 1st in the CIAA and 9th in the NCAA in the 60 meter hurdles. FOOD LION MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Markus White, Virginia State (Fr. - Lynchburg, VA) Freshman jumper Markus White had a good start to his collegiate career. He won the men's Long Jump with a season best jump of 7.10m (23'3) at the WSSU Fast Track. FOOD LION WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Aisha Carrington, Lincoln (PA) (Jr. - Baltimore, MD) FOOD LION WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jewelle Becton, Livingstone (So. - Greensboro, NC) On December 1st Jewelle Becton threw 9.98 meters in the women’s shot put placing 14th at the Liberty Kickoff. She followed up that with an almost 5 foot personal best at the JDL Early Bird Invitational on December 3rd. Jewelle threw 11.44 meters placing 7th at the meet and moving into 1st in the CIAA.
