Marilynn Stacey-Suggs Marilynn Stacey-Suggs Title: Associate Athletic Director / Senior Woman Administrator Organization: Claflin University Phone: 803-535-5365 Email: Mstacey-suggs@claflin.edu Bio Marilynn Stacey-Suggs is the Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator with the Claflin University athletics department. She previously served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance within the department. Stacey-Suggs joined the Claflin athletics staff in January 2014. In her role as the Associate AD, Stacey-Suggs is responsible for analyzing senior administrative issues as they come up on a routine basis, as well as ensuring that the student-athletes, department staff members and any other individual or organizations affiliated with the department is in compliance with the NCAA and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rules and regulations. As Senior Woman Administrator, she will assist the University’s athletics program with policies and procedures that achieve the parallel goals of the development of quality, competitive athletics teams and support of the individual educational goals of Student-Athletes Prior to joining the Panther staff, Stacey-Suggs served as Athletic Director and Associate Director of Student Development at Savannah State University (SSU). While at SSU, she served in several capacities, including stints as the Assistant Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator and interim Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator. Stacey-Suggs was also the part-time Senior Woman Administrator while serving as the university’s Telecommunications Coordinator. Stacey-Suggs is a native of Reidsville, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C., and earned an Associate of Arts degree in funeral service education from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Stacey-Suggs has also done some graduate course work at Southern Polytechnic State University. She holds memberships in the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), and the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association, Inc.
