CIAA Announces Volleyball Weekly Honors
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 8, 2026) – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA®) has announced its Volleyball Weekly Honors for the second week of the 2026 season. Fayetteville State University earned three of the four weekly honors, while Virginia State University claimed Setter of the Week.
The CIAA Volleyball Weekly Honors are voted on by the CIAA Sports Information Association.
CIAA VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS
Rookie of the Week – McKenna Miller, Fayetteville State
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Jefferson, S.C.
Miller made an immediate impact during Fayetteville State's 3-0 weekend at the Mount Olive Tournament. Across 14 sets, the freshman outside hitter recorded 14 kills, 10 digs, three blocks and 15.5 points. She posted a weekend-high seven kills against Georgia College and added four kills and two blocks against host Mount Olive, helping the Broncos finish the tournament unbeaten.
Defensive Player of the Week – Jasmine Culp, Fayetteville State
Graduate | Libero | Clayton, N.C.
Culp anchored Fayetteville State's defense during the Broncos' 3-0 weekend at the Mount Olive Tournament, totaling 62 digs and averaging 4.43 digs per set. She recorded 16 digs against Wingate, 20 against Georgia College and a weekend-high 26 against Mount Olive. Culp also added 27 assists and six service aces.
Offensive Player of the Week – Mya Hejl, Fayetteville State
Junior | Middle Blocker | Valley Springs, S.D.
Hejl led Fayetteville State during its 3-0 weekend at the Mount Olive Invitational, totaling 29 kills, 10 digs, three service aces and 37 points across 14 sets. She opened the weekend with 10 kills and a .471 hitting percentage against Wingate before closing the tournament with a weekend-high 11 kills and six digs against Mount Olive.
Setter of the Week – Peyton Reese, Virginia State
Senior | Setter | Las Vegas, Nev.
Reese recorded 73 assists across four matches at the UNCP Invitational. She posted a double-double with 19 assists and 12 digs against Middle Georgia and recorded a match-high 30 assists against Barton.
2026 CIAA Volleyball Championship
The 47th CIAA Volleyball Championship will be held November 9–11, 2026, at the Rocky Mount Event Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The top eight CIAA teams will meet to compete for the conference title and the opportunity to be crowned the 2026 CIAA Volleyball Champion.
