CIAA TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Charlotte, NC (April 21, 2026) – CIAA Tennis competition continued across the conference as teams competed in conference matchups. One student athlete earned recognition for her performance during the week of April 12 through April 18. 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Camilla Angiani-Mortino, Shaw University 

Junior Camilla Angiani-Mortino delivered an undefeated week in singles play while contributing in doubles competition for Shaw. Competing at the No. 2 singles position, she recorded two straight set victories over Johnson C. Smith, winning 6-2, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-0. 

In doubles action, Angiani-Mortino secured a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 position and had her pairing leading 5-3 in an unfinished match, contributing to Shaw’s overall performance across the week. 

The 2026 CIAA Tennis Championship will take place April 24th and 25th on the campus of Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA.
