CIAA Student Athletes Selected as HBCU Fellows for 2026 Black Student Athlete Summit

Winston-Salem, N.C. (April 17, 2026) - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA®) proudly congratulates two outstanding student athletes who have been selected to attend the 2026 Black Student Athlete Summit as HBCU Fellows through the NCAA Office of Inclusion.

Representing the CIAA at this prestigious national event will be Robert Scott III of Bluefield State University, a member of the men’s track and field program, and Nia Miller of Lincoln University, a member of the women’s soccer program.

In addition to their athletic accomplishments, both students serve as members of the CIAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), demonstrating leadership, service, and a commitment to enhancing the student athlete experience across the conference.

The 2026 Black Student Athlete Summit, themed Beyond NIL, will take place May 20 through May 23, 2026, at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. The summit will provide student athletes with opportunities to explore topics focused on long term intellectual, financial, cultural, and institutional growth beyond traditional name, image, and likeness opportunities.

As HBCU Fellows, Scott and Miller will have all registration, hotel accommodations, and travel expenses covered through the NCAA Office of Inclusion, Education and Community Engagement’s partnership with the Black Student Athlete Summit.

CIAA Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams Parker praised the selection of both student leaders. "We are incredibly proud of Robert and Nia for earning this outstanding opportunity," said Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams Parker. "Their selection reflects the excellence, leadership, and impact that CIAA student athletes continue to demonstrate on their campuses and throughout our conference. We are confident they will represent the CIAA with distinction while gaining valuable knowledge that will benefit their futures."

The CIAA celebrates Robert Scott III and Nia Miller for this remarkable achievement and looks forward to the positive impact they will continue to make as student athletes and leaders.
