Fayetteville State, Winston-Salem State Set Pace After Round Two of CIAA Men’s Golf Championship

MEBANE, N.C. — Fayetteville State maintained its position atop the leaderboard following round two of the 2026 CIAA Men’s Golf Championship, holding steady after an even-par team performance Monday at Mill Spring Golf Course.

The Broncos sit at +6 overall, preserving their lead heading into the final round. Winston-Salem State also posted an even-par round and remains second at +10, keeping pressure on the leaders with 18 holes left to play. Virginia State stands third at +25, followed by Bluefield State (+31) and Livingstone (+38) to round out the top five.

Virginia State made one of the biggest moves of the day in the individual standings, as Samuel Kozisek surged into first place with a 2-under-par 70 in round two. Kozisek’s two-day total of 142 (-2) gives him a two-shot edge heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Fayetteville State placed two golfers tied for second, with Patrico Ramirez (73) and Landon Cabingas, who turned in one of the lowest rounds of the day with a 3-under-par 69, both sitting at even par (144) overall. Sutton Dreier added another consistent round for the Broncos and is tied for fourth at +1 (145).

Winston-Salem State remains firmly in contention individually, placing three golfers tied for fourth. Godfrey Nsubuga and Cameron Lutterloh each carded 1-under 71s, while Tanner Frye followed with a 73, all sitting at +1 (145) through two rounds.

Bluefield State moved up one spot on the team leaderboard behind steady play from Eman Lim, who shot an even-par 72 and sits eighth individually at +3 (147). Livingstone was paced by Michael Alunga, tied for ninth at +4 (148), while Virginia Union, Johnson C. Smith, and Bowie State look to climb the standings in the championship round.

With the team title and individual medalist honors still within reach for multiple programs, the final round of the 2026 CIAA Men’s Golf Championship tees off Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. at Mill Spring Golf Course.
