CHARLOTTE, NC (April 2026) – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the official team standings, All-CIAA selections, and individual award winners ahead of the 2026 CIAA Golf Championship, which will take place today and tomorrow at Mill Creek Golf Course in Mebane, NC.
After two conference round ups, Bluefield State University enters the championship as the top seed with a combined score of 1791. Fayetteville State University (1828) and Winston-Salem State University (1833) follow closely, while Virginia State University (1858) and Livingstone College (1883) round out the top five. Virginia Union University (1892), Johnson C. Smith University (1959), and Bowie State University (2031) complete the championship field.
Individually, Freddie Timmis of Bluefield State delivered a standout season, earning both CIAA Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors after finishing first overall with a six round total of 439.
The 2026 All CIAA Team features the conference’s top 10 golfers based on total performance across both round ups:

- Magnus Nielsen, Bluefield State
Bluefield State’s depth was on full display, placing seven golfers on the All CIAA Team and securing both the Northern Division title and the top overall team finish. On the southern side, Fayetteville State captured the Southern Division championship to set up a strong postseason matchup.
Leading the charge for Bluefield State, head coach Sam Berry was named CIAA Coach of the Year following a dominant campaign.
Off the course, Virginia Union University posted the highest team GPA in the conference with a 3.71, continuing to demonstrate excellence in the classroom.
With top tier talent across the leaderboard and momentum on the side of the conference’s leading programs, the 2026 CIAA Golf Championship is set to deliver an exciting conclusion to the season.
