CIAA TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Charlotte, NC (March 25, 2026) – CIAA Tennis competition continued across the conference as teams opened Roundup play with strong early season results. One student athlete earned recognition for her performance during the week of March 15 through March 21. 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Mikayla Stewart, Winston-Salem State University 
Freshman Mikayla Stewart played a key role in Winston-Salem State’s 2-1 showing at the CIAA Roundup, contributing to victories over Bowie State and Virginia Union. Stewart secured wins in both singles and doubles play, including a 6-1, 6-2 singles victory and a doubles win against Virginia State in a 4-2 team result. Against Bowie State, she added a 6-1, 6-1 singles win and a 6-1 doubles victory. She closed out the weekend with a 6-0, 6-0 singles win and another doubles victory against Virginia Union, finishing the day undefeated in singles play. 
CIAA Tennis competition continues as teams move further into conference play.
