INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced on Monday morning that the Bowie State University softball team has been selected as the No. 8 seed in the NCAA DII Atlantic Region and will face the top seed No. 15 East Stroudsburg in the NCAA Atlantic Region pods at Creekview Park for the second consecutive season from Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11.
The Bulldogs also join Kutztown as the No. 4 seed and Shippensburg as the No. 5 seed in the double-elimination tournament, with the winner advancing to the NCAA DII Atlantic Super Regional next week.
The NCAA Tournament selection is BSU's fifth overall and second-straight over the last three seasons, earning berths in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2023 and 2024. The Bulldogs (21-21) claimed its second consecutive CIAA championship Sunday, defeating Claflin, 11-8 in Glen Allen, Va.
Coreena Dunham led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI.
Jayla Hill and
Akirra Pullen were named to the Softball All-Tournament Team, with Hill voted as the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.

All games will be broadcast on the PSAC Sports Digital Network. Creekview Park's Vigon International Field will be the site of two contests on Thursday, three games on Friday, along with potential two games on Sunday.
