FOOD LION MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Aiden Bryce Laws, Virginia Union
(Fr. -Newcastle, DE)

Aiden clinched first place in the 400m dash with a time of 49.19. Additionally, he secured third place in the 200m dash, achieving a personal best time of 21.42. With this impressive time, he ranks second in the conference and 24th in the DII national list. Laws was also part of the 4x100m relay team that secured first place at 2024 NSU Track & Field Invitational at Norfolk State University.  

FOOD LION MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jordae Wilson, Johnson C. Smith 
(So. -Montego Bay, Jamaica) 

Jordae set new  personal records at the JCSU Golden Bulls Invitational. He won the triple jump with a new personal best of 48' 9", a 2 feet improvement and currently sits at number one in the CIAA and number 15 in the NCAA. He also jumped a personal best of 23'  in the long jump, his first time getting into the 7m range. With that performance, he is currently ranked number five in the CIAA.

FOOD LION WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Rose Muturi, Virginia State
(Fr. -Nyahururu, Kenya)

Rose finished in first place in the 5000m with a personal best and new school record with a time of 17:44.62. 

FOOD LION WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ashley Taylor, Fayetteville State
(Grad. -Charlotte, NC)

Ashley had an amazing performance at the JCSU Invitational. She won first place in the shot put competition with a massive throw of 11.81m. Ashley then followed up with another spectacular win in the discus , setting a new personal record of 40.72m.
