CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 16, 2025) - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has announced the week two Food Lion Volleyball Players of the Week, recognizing outstanding performances from across the conference.
Offensive Player of the Week
NAME: Holiday Ellis
POSITION: Outside Hitter
INSTITUTION: Winston-Salem State State
HOMETOWN: Inglewood, CA.
Ellis totaled 66 kills, 195 total attacks, three assists, eight aces and 58 digs. Ellis' best game came on September 12th against Young Harris 22 kills, one ace and 15 digs.
Defensive Player of the Week
NAME: MacKenzie Morgan
POSITION: Defensive Specialis/Libero
INSTITUTION: Livingstone
HOMETOWN: St. Matthews, S.C.
MacKenzie Morgan delivered a standout performance during a demanding week of competition. She recorded 93 digs, 5 service aces, and 16 assists, continuing to be a key defensive leader for the Lady Blue Bears.
Setter of the Week
NAME: Masa Simovic
POSITION: Setter
INSTITUTION: Livingstone
HOMETOWN: Podgorica, Montenegro
Running the 6-2 system with precision, Masa Simovic continues to be a key playmaker for the Lady Blue Bears. She totaled 103 assists, 37 digs, and 9 service aces, contributing 16 points during a strong week of competition.
Rookie of the Week
NAME: Celina Johnson
POSITION: Setter
INSTITUTION: Winston-Salem State
HOMETOWN: Laurel, MD.
Johnson had two kills, 28 total kills, 144 assists, five aces and 54 digs. Johnson's best game came on September 13th against St. Anselm with one kill, 39 assists, and 18 digs.
