Volleyball Week Five Players of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. (October 8, 2025) - Another thrilling week of CIAA volleyball brought out some incredible performances, and this week’s Players of the Week made sure their impact was felt on every court.

Offensive Player – Chiara Vittoni, Fayetteville State University
Chiara Vittoni continues to be a driving force for Fayetteville State Volleyball, leading the Broncos to four straight wins this week. Her best outing came against Bowie State, where she tallied 15 kills and 18.0 total points. Across all matches, Vittoni posted 42 kills, 14 digs, and 48.0 total points in another dominant stretch of play.

Defensive Player - Jasmine Culp, Fayetteville State University
Jasmine Culp anchored Fayetteville State’s back row with poise and precision, helping the Broncos remain undefeated through a dominant four-match stretch. Her defensive consistency and sharp serve receive play were key in each victory, highlighted by a season-high 26 digs against Livingstone. Across the week, Culp totaled 56 digs and 9 service aces, showcasing her all-around impact.

Setter - Kya Morris, Shaw University
Across four matches, Moore dished out 109 assists, averaging 9.9 per set, while also adding six service aces, 19 digs, and six kills on a .375 hitting percentage. Her best performance came in a thrilling five-set win over Winston-Salem State, where she posted 46 assists, seven digs, two blocks, and a kill to fuel the Lady Bears’ comeback victory. She continued her strong play with 29 assists against Bowie State, 16 versus Lincoln (PA), and 18 in a sweep of Virginia Union.

Rookie - Celina Johnson, Winston-Salem State University
This week, Johnson recorded 15 kills, 58 assists, three aces, one block, and 20 digs in a strong all-around effort. Her best performance came on October 4 against Bluefield State, where she posted 23 assists, one kill, one block, and three digs. She also notched 20 assists and 11 digs in a solid outing against Shaw on September 29.
