Charlotte, NC (November 13, 2023) - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the nation's oldest historically Black athletic conference, unveils its 2023 volleyball championship bracket. The Quarterfinals will be hosted on the campus of the top four seeds on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, with advancing teams playing in the semi-finals on Saturday, November 18 in Bowie, MD at Bowie State University. The championship match will take place on Sunday, November 19 at Bowie State University as well.

The top four teams from each division will look to battle for the 2023 CIAA Volleyball Championship.

For the North, Elizabeth City State enters this year’s tournament as the top seed followed by No. 2 seed Bluefield State, No. 3 seed Virginia State, and no. 4 seed Bowie State. Those four teams will be hosting the Quarterfinals with South contenders no. 1 seed Shaw, no. 2 seed Saint Augustine's, no. 3 seed Fayetteville State, and no. 4 seed Winston-Salem State rounding out this year’s tournament field.
 

The quarterfinal round will open on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. on the campuses of Shaw, Saint Augustine's, Elizabeth City State, and Bluefield State. Semi-final matches are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday while the championship match will tip off on Saturday at noon.

The 2023 CIAA Volleyball Championship at the Bowie State University is free and open to the public. Patrons looking to attend quarterfinal matches will need to follow the policy of each host institution.

Quarterfinal matches will be streamed live by each host institution and available on the CIAA Sports Network (CIAASN). Semi-final and championship matches will also be streamed live on the CIAASN.
