Suzette McQueen is a 20-year athletic administrator with experience at both the Division I and Division II levels. A four-year letterwinner in track & field at the University of Michigan and the holder of a Masters in Sport Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, her expertise includes fundraising, donor relations, media and public relations, communications, branding and licensing. Currently serving as the Senior Associate Commissioner of External Operations and Strategic Marketing/Senior Woman Administrator for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), McQueen manages sponsorship, media rights, promotions, media relations and marketing for the CIAA's 14 championship sports.  McQueen currently serves as the Chair of the NCAA Committee for Women's Athletics.

At the CIAA, McQueen helps to provide strategies that drive revenue streams while increasing brand management and awareness to support the mission and vision of the conference and its member institutions.  In addition, McQueen was an instrumental member of the conference’s leadership team in all pandemic related decision making, protocols, external communication.

McQueen joined the conference office after serving for six years as the Associate Director of the Davidson College Athletic Fund (DAF), including a stint as Interim Director of DAF in 2015 which resulted in a record breaking $2.7M raised in annual dollars for athletics. McQueen worked closely with the Office of Special Events and managed special projects focused on capital and scholarship fundraising. In addition to developing annual communication strategies for the Annual Fund, she oversaw the creation and implementation of the DAF annual fund report and other publications.

Prior to Davidson, McQueen served as the Assistant Athletic Director, External Affairs and Media Relations and Senior Woman Administrator at Adelphi University. She was responsible for media relations for the University's 20 Division II sports programs. McQueen also served as executive director of the Panther Club, and as the liaison to campus offices including the President's Office, as well as to alumni relations and development. McQueen was the founder and coordinator of the athletic department's annual Black History Month Celebration.  She also served as director of the annual athletic Hall of Fame dinner.

McQueen has experience on the NCAA DII Nominating Committee. McQueen completed the Women Leaders Executive Institute and is a 2017 graduate of the NCAA Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute. An active member of Women Leaders in College Sports, McQueen serves on the Fundraising Committee and the Conference Administrators Circle and is also a member of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) and National Association for Athletic Development Directors (NAADD). 

In 2021, McQueen joined the Team Impact Athletic Advisory Board and also serves on the University of Michigan Letterwinners M Club Board 

She currently resides in Charlotte, N.C.  with her husband Kevin McQueen, a former track & field athlete All-American at Syracuse University, and their two children, Sedona and Kyle.
