CIAA Education Day, one of the conference’s most popular events during the CIAA Basketball Tournament, reaches more than 6,000 middle and high school students with dedicated programs for each age group. Attendees will be able to meet with college recruiters from Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia face-to-face to learn tips to prepare for college as well as get the inside track on the collegiate experience.

The Middle School STEM Program (MSP) will be held on Tuesday, February 25 at Ovens Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m (a later start from previous years). and the High School Program (HSP) will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Convention Center on Wednesday, February 26.  The events will kick off with an opening session that includes a sponsor welcome and remarks, panel discussions regarding preparing for college and beyond, student and teacher recognitions, and an inspirational speaker.

For CIAA Education Day-HSP, there will also be a special presentation honoring students with 4.0 grade point averages.  All attendees will have the opportunity to visit the various CIAA institutions’ booths and event vendors.

These programs are free to middle and high school students from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, as well as surrounding North Carolina counties and other states.
