Bowie State delivered a dominant performance Friday afternoon, shutting out Lincoln (Pa.) 8–0 to advance in the CIAA Softball Championship Tournament at Orangeburg Recreation Park.

The Bulldogs struck early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning and adding two more in the second to seize firm control. After holding Lincoln (Pa.) scoreless through the middle innings, Bowie State tacked on a run in the fifth before sealing the win with a three-run sixth inning to enforce the run-rule decision.

Aaliyah Amos was outstanding in the circle for Bowie State, tossing a six-inning shutout. Amos allowed just two hits, walked one, and did not allow an earned run while keeping the Lincoln (Pa.) lineup off balance throughout. Ashlynn Sherman took the loss for the Lions after allowing four runs in the opening inning.

Bowie State finished with nine hits and drew eight walks, consistently applying pressure on the bases. India Stokes, Taylor Dawkins, and Kyla Richardson each crossed the plate, while Angelina Nguyen-Nhu provided the highlight of the game with a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Lincoln (Pa.) managed just two hits in the contest and was unable to generate sustained offense against Amos and a steady Bulldogs defense.

With the loss, Lincoln (Pa.) was eliminated from the CIAA Softball Championship Tournament, while Bowie State continued its postseason run in Orangeburg.
