CIAA OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Charlotte, NC (March 31, 2026) – CIAA Outdoor Track and Field competition continued across the conference with strong performances in sprint, distance, relay, and field events. Four student athletes earned recognition for their results during the week of March 22 through March 28. 
 
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Videlma Jebet, Fayetteville State University 
Sophomore distance runner Videlma Jebet captured first place in the 1500 meters with a season best time of 4:56.44. Her performance leads the conference in the event and highlights a strong early outdoor campaign. 
 
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Adriana Quamina, Fayetteville State University 
Freshman thrower Adriana Quamina delivered a strong showing in the throws, winning the discus with a mark of 45.23 meters. She also placed fourth in the shot put at 11.57 meters and sixth in the javelin with a throw of 24.10 meters. Her discus mark ranks among the top performances in the CIAA this season. 
 
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Leonie Bentley, Virginia State University 
Sophomore sprinter Leonie Bentley recorded multiple strong performances at the Raleigh Relays, highlighted by a personal best time of 10.49 in the 100 meters. He also ran 21.38 in the 200 meters, which ranks first in the CIAA, and contributed to Virginia State relay teams that posted marks of 41.66 in the 4x100 and 3:16.30 in the 4x400, both ranking second in the conference. 
 
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Zachary Jones, Virginia Union University 
Junior thrower Zachary Jones delivered a strong performance at the Morehouse Relays, winning the shot put with a mark of 15.29 meters and the discus with a throw of 49.49 meters. His results led the field in both events and highlighted a dominant showing in the throws. 
 
CIAA Outdoor Track and Field competition continues as programs move further into the outdoor season.
