CIAA Volleyball Championship Tiebreaker Protocol
As the regular season concludes and teams compete for championship positioning, the CIAA will apply its established tiebreaker procedures, if necessary, to determine final tournament seeding.
Per the CIAA Volleyball Sporting Code, tiebreakers will be applied in the following order:
-
Head-to-Head Competition: Results between tied teams, with the fewest sets lost determining the advantage.
-
Head-to-Head Point Total: If teams remain tied, total points scored in head-to-head competition will be compared.
-
Coin Toss: If all competitive criteria fail to resolve the tie, an official coin toss will determine championship seeding.
The final championship seeds and tournament bracket will be announced following the conclusion of regular-season competition and confirmation of any applicable tiebreakers.
