Orangeburg, SC - Day two of the 2025 CIAA Softball Championships take on many twists and turns, however in the end, Bowie State University and Claflin emerged as the two remaining teams who will compete in Saturday's championship final. 

The first pairing of games on day two saw Winston-Salem State and Virginia State matchup on one field, while Fayetteville State and Lincoln (PA) battled it out on the other. The Rams were solid on both sides of the ball, putting up eight runs while shutting out the Trojans en route to victory. The Broncos and Lions had an intense back-and-forth battle and were forced to work through a strange circumstance towards the end of the game that ultimately saw the Lincoln (PA) squeeze out a 7-6 victory. 

Both top seeds faced off in the second pairing of games, as Bowie State and Claflin took to the championship field for what we'd later find out is a championship preview. The Bulldogs and Panthers put on a show and were neck and neck throughout, however Bowie State would come out victorious and clinch the first spot in the championship final with a 4-2 win over Claflin. Winston-Salem State and Lincoln (PA) continue their pursuit of the loser's bracket as they faced off in a high-scoring affair, however the Rams' 10 runs proved too much for the Lions as they came out victorious, 10-6. 

The final game of the day saw Claflin and Winston-Salem State go head-to-head for the second and final spot in the championship final. The Rams got on the board firstm however an eight-run second inning but the Panthers in the driver's seat. Their defense held WSSU at bay, until a nearly-hour long rain delay would change the tide after its completion. Winston-Salem State came out of the delay firing on all cylinders and managed to cut the deficit to two. It came down to the final play of the game on a close out call at first base, however the Panthers held on to win 8-6, and will face off with Bowie State in the championship final.
