Livingstone 19, Elizabeth City State 0

The Down East Viking Classic did not go ECSU's way while 19 points proved to be enough for a win for Livingstone this week. The Vikings lost three of seven fumbles while Livingstone managed to recover all five of its own fumbles and that was maybe the difference in this game. The two teams also combined for just 243 yards and averaged 2.1 yards per play. Likewise, punting took center stage and the Blue Bears' Joseph Weiers had six of eight punts downed inside the 20-yard line and he had two 50-plus yarders. Christian Bostic had a Livingstone-high eight total tackles (2.5 for a loss), plus a forced fumble and recovery. The Blue Bears' Jahswon Edwards also had a forced fumble and recovery. Trailing 14-0 in the third quarter, a chance to change the tides was presented to FSU after Devin Cowan's strip sack and Anthony Binyard's recovery at the 50-yard line.
