FOOD LION OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK

#76 Keith Quick, Winston-Salem State
(Jr., OL - Greensboro, NC)

Keith Quick and the Winston-Salem State offensive line powered the Rams to a season-high 456 total yards of offense (228 passing and 228 rushing) and 8.3 yards per play in a 41-14 win over St. Augustine's. Winston-Salem State rushed for three touchdowns and passed for three touchdowns while going a perfect four-for-four in the red zone. The junior anchored an offensive line that did not surrender a single sack on 14 pass attempts.


 
McKee, Rashad



FOOD LION QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK

#7 Rashad McKee, Chowan
(Jr., QB - Huber Heights, OH)

In his second start this season, Rashad McKee led Chowan to its first win over Bowie State in Bowie, MD since 2013. The junior threw for a season-high 270 yards and three touchdowns and added 56 yards on the ground in the 21-15 victory against the Bulldogs. The Huber Heights, OH native threw the go-ahead touchdown with under six minutes to play in the game, connecting with Malik Tobias for a 61-yard score. McKee also threw touchdowns of 11 yards and 73 yards en route to completing 17-of-33 passes.

FOOD LION RECEIVER OF THE WEEK

#1 R.J. Mobley, Winston-Salem State
(Jr., WR - Columbia, SC)

R.J. Mobley caught four passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns — all season-highs for the junior in the Rams' 41-14 win over St. Augustine's. The Columbia, SC native scored touchdowns of 9 yards and 72 yards in the second half as Winston-Salem State improved upon its halftime lead of 13-7. His second touchdown, the 72-yarder, gave the Rams a 34-14 lead. Mobley also had a 35-yard reception in the third quarter.

FOOD LION OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK

#3 Andre Brandon, Jr., Shaw
(Jr., RB - Baltimore, MD)

Andre Brandon, Jr. rushed for a school-record 306 yards on the Bears' Homecoming to defeat Livingstone, 28-14. The junior carried the ball a school-record 49 times while rushing for two touchdowns and averaging 6.2 yards per carry. The Baltimore, MD scored a 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give Shaw a 14-0 lead and then returned with a five-yard score that clinched the game with 1:14 remaining in regulation. On that final drive, Brandon Jr. led an eight-play drive by rushing eight times for 45 yards, including rushes of 11 yards and 18 yards. 18 yards was his longest rush and he also added a reception for five yards. Brandon Jr.'s rushing total is currently the third highest by an individual in NCAA Division II this season and is just the third 300-yard rushing performance in the CIAA since 2018.

FOOD LION DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK

#6 Kevin Larkins Jr., Livingstone
(Fr., DB - Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

Kevin Larkins Jr. became the first CIAA player since 2019 to record three interceptions in a single game. In the 28-14 loss to Shaw, Larkins jr. logged nine total tackles (seven solo stops), three interceptions, and two pass deflections. The freshman had two interceptions inside the blue Bears' 10-yard line and a third interception occured on Livingstone's side of the field. The Ft. Lauderdale, FL racked up 20 return yards on his interceptions. Larkins Jr. was credited with a pair of pass breakups in the second half, both of which came on third down and forced a pair of Shaw punts.

FOOD LION LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK

#47 Kennypride Toh, Bowie State
(r-So.,  LB - Silver Springs, MD)

Kennypride Toh led Bowie State with seven total tackles (a career-high) and 2.5 stops for a loss in the 21-15 loss to Chowan. Six of the redshirt sophomore's seven tackles resulted in gains of three yards or less for the Hawks.

FOOD LION DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK

#96 Ryan Hatter Jr., Livingstone
(So., DL - Chicago, IL) 

Ryan Hatter Jr. had game-high totals of 10 total tackles,  nine solo stops, and three tackles for a loss in the 28-14 loss to Shaw. The sophomore also had a sack and a forced fumble. His strip-sack was recovered by a Livingstone teammate and returned for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 21-14 in the third quarter. The Chicago, IL native's three tackles for a loss resulted in a loss of 17 total yards for Shaw.

FOOD LION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#88 Brady Myers, Virginia Union
(FR., K/P - Orlando, FL) 

Brady Myers was a perfect six-for-six on point-after attempts and made a 20-yard field goal in the Panthers' 45-20 win over Lincoln (PA). The freshman's field goal was the first points of the game, coming in under three minutes left in the first quarter. The Orlando, FL native also handles kickoff duties for Virginia Union and three of his eight kickoffs resulted in a touchback, averaging 56 yards per kick. This is Myers' second consecutive Player of the Week honor.


Jahtwan Strafford

FOOD LION ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#44 JahTwan Stafford, Winston-Salem State
(Fr, RB - Monroe, NC)

JahTwan Stafford rushed for a game-high 185 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries (8.8 yards per carry) in the Rams' 41-14 win over the Falcons. His 185 yards rushing is tied for the most by a Ram since August 2017. The Monroe, NC native helped Winston-Salem State jump out to a 13-0 lead with touchdown runs of 14 and 15 yards. The freshman rushed for 10 first downs total and had six rushes of 15 yards or more, including his longest run of 26 yards.

Fayetteville State University vs. Johnson C. Smith University

Elijah Henry took a screen pass from Caden Davis 46 yards for a touchdown and Davis rushed for another touchdown four seconds before halftime for a 21-6 Broncos lead. Johnson C. Smith actually outgained FSU in this game, 297-226, and had seven more first downs (20) but in a one-possession game, JCSU had drives of nine plays, nine plays, and 12 plays result in zero points in the fourth quarter. The Golden Bulls' Jacob Newman rushed for a game-high 105 yards and the third quarter touchdown that cut the deficit to 21-13. Henry had a season-high 92 yards receiving on six catches, in addition to 28 yards rushing and JCSU's Brevin Caldwell finished with seven receptions for 73 yards. Sharrod Simmon's 17 tackles for JCSU ties a season-high for most tackles in a single game in the CIAA. FSU's Quantavius Randolph was credited with three pass breakups and he returned a blocked Golden Bulls' field goal 73 yards for the first score of the game.
