CIAA Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams Named to Inaugural Board for Doug Williams Center
Grambling, LA – Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams has been appointed to the inaugural Advisory Board for the Doug Williams Center for the Study of Race & Politics in Sports, Grambling State University announced yesterday.
The Doug Williams Center, named after the prominent Grambling State alum that became the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl, will engage domestic and global conversations on race and politics in sports aimed at helping to identify, analyze, and develop feasible solutions. The Center, established in August, will be supported by the National Football League (NFL) Campus Connection program and other public and private donors.
Commissioner McWilliams was one of 20 members named to serve on the inaugural board, which features some of the best minds in sports and education. They will guide the Center, along with newly appointed Executive Director Brandon Logan, as it tackles challenges and offers solutions to some of today’s most relevant issues.
