Elizabeth City, NC - Elizabeth City State University Sports Information Director (SID) Shalyn Moore has been selected to receive a Woman of Color Membership Scholarship for Women Leaders in College Sports, in collaboration with the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA).
 
Moore joined ECSU athletics in October 2019 to take over the SID role. Moore also serves as the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) advisor at ECSU. She is excited about sharing this organization with student-athletes and Viking students that are interested in a career in collegiate athletics. 
 
"Being a recipient of the prestigious MOAA Women of Color membership scholarship is awesome," said Athletic Director George Bright. "Women Leaders in College Sports is committed to leadership development, achievement, and recognizing success of women working in athletics.  I'm pleased that SID Moore will take part in this wonderful opportunity. "
 
Moore is no stranger to the Women Leaders in College Sports organization. In 2017 she was selected to participate in the Women's Leadership Symposium in Kansas City, MO.
 
"My trip to Kansas City, MO in 2017 for the Women Leaders Symposium was an incredible and uplifting experience at such a pivotal time in my life after just defending my thesis," Shalyn Moore said.  "I am honored to be a part of each of these organizations and look forward to the opportunities to learn, lead, grow, and represent Elizabeth City State University."
