FOOD LION MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#00 Zaccheus Hobbs, Elizabeth City State 
(Jr, 5-11 Guard - Maysville, NC)

Hobbs led the Vikings with 21.6 points per game over three games while also averaging 5.6 rebounds and two assists per contests. The junior guard poured in a season-high 33 points, including seven three-pointers, and grabbed seven rebounds in ECSU's 85-75 win over Saint Augustine's and also scored 21 points against UNC-Pembroke. A native of Maysville, NC, Hobbs shot 45.7 percent from the three-point line and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line for the week.

FOOD LION MEN'S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#12 Deaquan Williams, Lincoln (PA)
(Jr, 6-8 Forward - Camden, NJ) 

Williams is the CIAA's top defender for a second straight week after totaling 17 defensive rebounds, two blocks, and a steal over two games. For the week, the Camden, NJ native averaged 15.5 points and 14 rebounds, including a season-high 15 rebounds against Claflin, to record his fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season, giving him three in the last four games.

FOOD LION MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#5 Nigel Martin, Shaw
(Fr, 6-5 Guard - Cleveland, OH)

Martin earns top rookie honors for a second consecutive week after averaging 17 points and five rebounds in the Bears' two games this past week. The 6-5 guard's best performance came in the Bears 84-78 win over Elizabeth City State where he put up 25 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including 2-for-3 from three, along with seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block while going 9-for-11 from the line. Martin currently leads all CIAA freshmen in scoring at 15.2 points per game.

FOOD LION WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#10 Kyaja Williams, Bowie State 
(Sr, 5-8 Forward - Baltimore, MD)

Williams earns her third straight player of the week honor after averaging a double-double with 15.5 points and 14.5 rebounds along with 5.5 steals and 1.5 blocks defensively over two games. The Baltimore, MD native recorded eight steals for the second time this season in the Bulldogs 58-36 win over Johnson C. Smith and it was her fourth game with at least five steals, currently ranking second in Division II in steals per game. Williams totaled 10 points and 12 rebounds against Shaw followed by a 21-point, 17-rebound performance against Claflin, recording her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season.

FOOD LION WOMEN'S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#24 Sirenna Pitts, Elizabeth City State
(So, 6-2 Forward - Raleigh, NC)

Pitts collected 24 defensive rebounds, including 17 against Saint Augustine's, and two blocks in two games. The 6-2 sophomore forward averaged 19 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 57.7 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line for the week, helping the Vikings to a 2-0 record. Pitts' best performance came when she posted career-highs with 23 points and 18 rebounds in ECSU's 91-81 double overtime win over SAU.

FOOD LION WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#20 NyAsia Blango, Elizabeth City State
(Fr, 5-7 Guard - Havelock, NC)

Blango is the CIAA's top rookie for the second time this season after totaling 10 points, seven assists, five steals, and four rebounds in two games, including six assists and a career-high four steals in the Vikings 58-36 win over Shaw. The 5-7 guard from Havelock, NC currently ranks second in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3) and seventh in assists per game (3.4).
