Roger Ray breaks Livingstone all-time assists record in second half versus Fayetteville State

SALISBURY — Junior point guard Roger Ray claimed his spot in the Livingstone program record book Wednesday, becoming the Blue Bears' all-time assists leader.

Ray entered the day three behind with Sheldon Payne (1996-98) and Mark Thomas (2011-14) atop the Blue Bears' all-time assists list with 280, and slid past them with 13:35 left in the second half while driving into the paint and kicking it back out for a Cameryn Carpenter 3-pointer.

Ray entered the day second the CIAA in assists per game (6.4) and assists-to-turnover ratio (2.1), while averaging 19.9 points per game.

The Blue Bears topped the Broncos of Fayetteville State, 74-60 on Wednesday night inside of New Trent Gym. 

The Blue Bears will now take a four game win streak in to Saturday as they host rival the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University.
