Livingstone Men's Basketball Drubs Morris, 90-67

SUMTER, S.C. - The Livingstone College men's basketball team got a game-high 13 points from Jalen Fykes and never trailed en route to a convincing 90-67 win over Morris College on Thursday evening.

Fykes, a junior product from Flint, MI scored 13 points and hit one three pointers, to help the Blue Bears lead wire-to-wire over the Hornets. Fykes finished the night shooting 6-of-7 from the field and 1-of-1 from beyond the arc. Also scoring in double figures was Malik Smith with 12 and Martel Handley with 10. Smith also had nine rebounds on the evening.

Collectively, LC shot 56.7% from the field (38-of-67) and 50.0% (7-of-14) from long range. They also forced 17 Morris' turnovers, converting those into 14 points.  LC also forced the issue inside, pounding out 56 points in the paint.

Morris got 20 points from Robert McFadden and 13 from Brandon Jones in the loss. 

The win improves LC to 9-6 on the season.

LC will return to the floor on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 4:00 p.m., hosting Claflin University.
