NEW YORK, N.Y. – Bowie State University men's track & field perform well at the College of New Jersey Invitational on Saturday.
Three Bulldogs were placed in top 10 in Men's 60M with junior Bashir Lamptey finishing first with 7.07. Freshman Davon Carroll placed third, while sophomores Stedman Cook (7.18) and Xavier Williams (7.23) finished ninth and 11th, respectively.
Carroll placed first in 200M with 22.77, while Stedman (22.48) and Lamptey (22.78) managed sixth and 11th. Freshman's Demontay Snowden (51.24) and
Larry Colbert, III (53.57) finished fifth and 11th.
Sophomore Jalen Sykes (1:09.40) and freshman Demetrius Jones (1:14.36) placed 11th and 15th in 500M. Senior Robert Thomas (2:02.62), junior Ikpefua Olumese (2:02.69) and freshman Yeabsera Teferra placed 14th, 15th and 19th, respectively.
Junior Juantre Rush finished 21st in Men's 3000M, while junior Frank Bailey placed ninth in Men's 60 Hurdles with 8.91.
Bulldogs were placed fourth in 4x4 with 3:28.48 (Ikpefua Olumese, Robert Thomas, Yeabsera Teferra and Demontay Snowden) were the participants in the contest.
Freshman's Derrick Corley (5.78m 6.63m 5.77m, 6.38) Isaiah Coe (5.69m 5.70m 5.52m) and Benvindo ChiCha (5.00m 5.22m 5.49) finished 6th, 12th and 18th in Men's Long Jump. Coe (12.16m 11.38 12.39) and Benvindo (11.59m 11.53m 12.01m) placed ninth and 10th in Men's Triple Jump.
Sophomore Kenny Fuentez placed fifth in Men's Shot Put with 12.84.
The Bulldogs next date of competition is Saturday (January 24) at Navy.
