Former Shaw Wide Receiver Continues Football Career in the Arena League

Raleigh, NC– Former Shaw University football student-athlete Daniel Lee is still making plays and continues his talents as a member of the Richmond Roughriders football team. The Richmond Roughriders is a member of the American Arena League (AAL).
A native of Gunnison, Miss., Lee played two (2010-2011) seasons for the Bears football program and helped Shaw to the 2010 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championship under former head coach Darrell Asberry.
After two successful seasons for the Bears, Lee signed his first professional Arena Football League contract in 2013 with the Columbus Lions. It was then; Lee realized his strengths and skills were on the rise. Lee would soon return to complete his education and earn a degree in Recreation Management from Shaw in 2014. Furthermore, Lee continued to pursue his career for many teams all over the east coast leading up to 2016.
In 2017, Lee became a member of the Richmond Roughriders a team within the American Arena League (AAL) and is coming off a 2017 season where the Roughriders went undefeated. In addition, the Roughriders won the 2017 Arena Pro Football Championship. Returning to the team for his last season under the leadership of owners: Greg Fenario, Hip-Hop rapper Jim Jones and head coach, Mook Zimmerman.
The Roughriders kicked off the 2018 season on Mar. 17 with a road victory over the High Country Grizzles by the score of 34-19. Lee recorded two receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown in the win.
Lee has now initiated a new segment within his career. He is now the Owner and Operator of DLee Elite Performance Training and Coaching since 2017 and will host his first Annual Training Camp, taking place where he graduated high school in Rosedale, Miss.
