Young, William Leonard Carmichael Class Induction 2013 Sport(s) Men's Basketball Leonard Carmichael received numerous awards and honors during his collegiate career with the Elizabeth City-State University Vikings Basketball Team. He was a 4 year letter winner and 3 year starter with the Vikings. His senior year he was also captain of the basketball team, along with the distinguished honor of being selected to the small college coaches All-American basketball team, First Team selection. In 1972, Carmichael was selected for the CIAA regular season and tournament teams. That same year he was also selected to the NAIA District 29 Regular Season and tournament teams where he was also named MVP. In 1993 Lenny Carmichael was inducted into the Elizabeth City-State University Sports Hall of Fame, where he is currently Head Coach of the Track and Field team that will revive its program in the Spring of 2013.
