Bill Buford attended Morgan State University, where he was a four-year letterman on the football team.  In 1953, he was co-captain of the team and earned All-CIAA honors.   In 1954 he garnered All-American status, as selected by the Pittsburgh Courier and also Our Sports Magazine.  At the conclusion of his collegiate career, Buford went on to be drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1954 as an offensive tackle.    In addition, Buford is a member of the Morgan State University Hall of Fame.
