CIAA Hall of Fame Members
(posthumous) Laster served as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Hampton University, where in his first year (1988) he led the Lady Pirates to a 20 win season and an NCAA Division II appearance. Laster currently holds the post as the 2nd winningest coach at Hampton University, 431-237. He was named CIAA Softball Coach of the Year in 1994 and has won CIAA Women's Basketball Championships in 1993 and 1995. A former volleyball coach as well, Laster served as a pioneer in women's athletics; having served on national committees that established rules and policies for women's intercollegiate athletics, including the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) and the NCAA.
