Reverend Dr. Sunday Adesuyi has been successful in higher education for more than 25 years as a professor of Chemistry and chairman of the Department of Natural Science and Mathematics at Saint Paul’s College. He once served as Interim Provost/Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Acting President while the institution was active in the CIAA. The Howard University alumnus is the recipient of numerous honors and awards that include: Sears-Roebuck Faculty of the Year, UNCF Distinguished Leadership Award, Most Outstanding Science Faculty Award, and U.S. Department of Commerce Appreciation Award. Dr. Adesuyi has also held and holds memberships and offices in numerous organizations that include being the president of the CIAA, parliamentarian of NCAA Division II Management Council, editor-in-chief of the National Newsletter of the National Association of Minority Medical Educators (NAMME), and executive committee member of the CIAA Basketball Tournament from 1990-2010. As a faculty athletics representative and president of the association, his dedication to academics and athletics led to the establishment of the “All-CIAA Academic Honor Roll Certificate”, for student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.00 or better.
