VUU Women Place Fourth at HBCU Challenge

Virginia Union University's women's cross-country team placed fourth at the HBCU Cross-Country Challenge, held on Saturday, October 1, in Cary, N.C.

VUU placed fourth with 237 total team points, behind Winston-Salem State University, Benedict College and Johnson C. Smith University.

VUU's Chelsea Lewis placed 33rd with a time of 22:19.4 over the five-kilometer course.

Virginia Union's Imani Jackson was 36th with a time of 22:31.4 while teammate Eboni Watford was 47th with a time of 23:14.8.

VUU's Alexus Copeland was 48th with a time of 23:15.6 and Winter Walker was 73rd with a time of 25:19.8.

Virginia Union's Nasjae Benson was 75th with a time of 25:36.6 and Destiny Huggins was 88th with a time of 27:26.3.

Virginia Union now returns home to host the VUU Invite at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, in Richmond, Va.
