Former WSSU Women's Basketball Player Dies in Car Accident
WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Winston-Salem State University
Department of Athletics is sad to announce the passing of former
student-athlete, Jillian Rose Charlet.
Charlet, 22, died at the scene of a one vehicle crash early
Wednesday morning in Winston-Salem, NC. She and another
passenger, Choloe Claudette Morse, 21, were roommates. They both
were passengers in the car. The driver, a non-WSSU male, and Morse
were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment of
injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Speed and alcohol are considered to be factors in the crash,
police said.
No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing.
Charlet and Morse were seniors at Winston-Salem State University
and were scheduled to graduate in May. Charlet was an accounting
major from New Washington, Ind., who was scheduled to graduate in
May. She played on the WSSU women's basketball team for three
years.
Morse is from Sumerduck, Va., and was majoring in management
information systems.
