Former Livingstone Standout Brittany Wright Signs to Play Professionally in Portugal

SALISBURY, NC – Former Livingstone women’s basketball standout Brittany Wright has signed to play professional basketball in the Portugal Women’s Basketball League.
 
Wright, who scored more than 1,000 points in her career at Livingstone is playing for the MRGROUP/Olivais Coimbra basketball team.  To date, Wright has seen action in two games, averaging 17 minutes per contest and scoring 5.5 points per game.
 
In her three years at Livingstone, Wright scored a total of 1,011 career points, averaging 13.3 points per game and also recorded an average of 7.9 rebounds per contest.  Wright ranks fifth all-time in total points scored and fourth all-time in total rebounds at Livingstone.  She also had a total of 96 blocks over three years which is third all-time for the Blue Bears.
 
“Our program was extremely lucky to have a player of Brittany’s caliber,” head coach Angelyne Brown said.  “Her efforts and contributions were an integral part of our program’s development and success and we are extremely excited and proud of her opportunity to continue her playing career on the professional level. We will always be proud to call her a Blue Bear.”
