Newcomer of the Week - Notes of Interest:
Aslea Williams had three strong performances in Shaw's contests this week - including two games against nationally ranked opponents. In Shaw's 77-75 win against Tusculum, Williams had 20 points to lead the team, and hit critical free throws to keep the Bears ahead in the waning minutes of the game.

Coach of the Week
Patrick Mashuda, Chowan University
Facing one of the toughest weeks of his coaching and personal career, Chowan's Patrick Mashuda led his Hawks to a 1-1 week with a 60-47 win over UNC-Pembroke on Tuesday night. Mashuda faced a tough road loss on Friday against Felician College, a game that was rescheduled from Saturday to Friday night so that Mashuda could deal with the sudden death of his best friend who passed away during practice earlier in the week.
