VSU'S WESTER CHOSEN TO ATTEND NCAA WOMEN COACHES ACADEMY
April 2, 2008
Virginia State University's Chiante Wester, assistant coach on the women's basketball team, has been chosen by the NCAA to attend the 2008 NCAA Women Coaches Academy, to be held June 7-11 in Atlanta, Ga.
Wester, in her third year as an assistant to VSU Lady Trojan Head
Coach James Hill, was one of 25 coaches chosen out of over 500
applicants.
The NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) provides skill for coaches at all levels to assist them in being more efficient, productive, resourceful and successful.
"This marks another point in the turnaround of Lady Trojan basketball," said VSU head coach James Hill.
Last season the Lady Trojans finished with 11 wins, the most for the women's basketball program since the 2002-03 season.
