Volleyball Tie-breaker Procedure
Winston-Salem State University's loss to St. Augustine's College on
October 26th led to a three-way tie between Winston-Salem State,
Johnson C. Smith University and Livingstone College. After
measuring wins and losses using the head-to-head tie-breaker
procedure, each team beat the other resulting in a tie-breaker
record of 1-1. The next step, producing a point spread of wins and
losses per match, left Johnson C. Smith on top having won the
tie-breaker with an 8-6 record.
Johnson C. Smith will advance to the CIAA Volleyball Championship
as the 4th seed in the Western Division.
