All-CIAA Volleyball, Rookie Team and Players of the Year Selections Begin Volleyball Championship Weekend

Hampton, VA… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced its All-CIAA Volleyball Team, Rookie Team and Players of the Year as selected by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association.
This year’s Player of the Year, Danielle Johnson-Webb, a senior middle hitter/blocker for the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University led the conference in blocks with 127 blocks, 52 of them solo. Johnson-Webb also ranks 4th in the conference in hitting percentage (.304) and has the most kills in the conference this season, finishing with 370.
Tanika Hudgins, our Rookie of the Year, is a freshman, Lady Viking outside hitter from Elizabeth City State University. Hudgins ranks among the CIAA’s Top 10 in digs totaling 205, 2.5 per game.
The All-CIAA Team, Rookie Team, Player and Rookie of the Year will be honored at the CIAA Volleyball Championship Luncheon at the Radisson Hotel- Research Triangle Park on Thursday, November 3, 2005, 11:30am.
