12 JCSU Track and Field Athletes Earn 30 USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

New Orleans, LA (May 16, 2017) – The United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced their All-Region teams for the 2017 Outdoor Track and Field season with the Johnson C. Smith University teams combining for 30 All-Region honors.

The JCSU men had 13 All-Region awards with seniors Joshua Cunningham (Toronto, Ontario) and
Kyle Robinson (Levelland, TX) each bringing home four designations.  Fellow senior David Ellis (Katy, TX) along with Kelvin Simon (St. John's, Antigua) each had two while freshman Bryson Tucker (Burlington, NC) finished with one honor.

The JCSU women claimed 17 All-Region designations led by junior Kendra Clarke (Edmonton, Alberta) with four.  Senior Fellan Ferguson (Kingston, Jamaica) and junior Kianje Pollard (Penns Grove, N.J.) each had three designations while Myah Edwards(Kingston, Jamaica), Domenique Julius-Williams (Oshawa, Ontario) and Sidney Marshall (Manchester, Jamaica) each garnering two.

The JCSU track and field teams will next head for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Bradenton, Fla. The championships will run May 24-27, 2017 at the IMG Academy.
