St. Aug's Scott Selected National Male Indoor Track Athlete of the Year
March 18, 2010
Josh Scott of Saint Augustine’s College was named Division II
national male indoor track athlete of the year Wednesday by the
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Scott, a junior from Winter Haven, Fla., won NCAA indoor titles in
the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes for the second straight year.
His times of 20.91 in the 200 and 46.05 in the 400 are national
championship records. He is the first sprinter to repeat as
Division II champion in the 200 meters.
Scott also anchored the 4x400-meter relay team to an NCAA title,
the third time the Falcons have won the event. His 22.5 points
helped the Falcon men place second at the NCAA Indoor Championships
this past weekend.
Scott was named Atlantic Region track athlete of the year two weeks
ago. He is the CIAA champion in the 400-meter dash.
