Bowie State Shines at Terrapins Invitational

All classifications have top 5 finishers

            (COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND - March 31, 2007)  Every classification on the Bowie State University women's and men's track and field teams had student-athletes perform well at the Terrapins Invitational outdoor meet hosted by the University of Maryland.  There were no team scores but senior Jennifer Geter and juniors DaMara Parrish and Rhea Godsey had top five finishes for the women.  BSU's men also ended the day with four top five finishers in freshmen Sean and Aaron Johnson along with sophomore Dion Rodriguez.

            Geter (Capital Heights, MD) placed second in the women's 400 Meter Dash (55.07), third in the 200 Meter Dash (24.29) and fourth in the 100 Meter Dash (12.17). Parrish (Severn, MD) came in second in the 100 Meter Dash finals with a time of 11.98 and placed third in the Triple Jump (11.36m).  Godsey (Cheverly, MD) came away with a fourth place finish (14.75) in the 100 Meter Hurdles.

            Geter and Parrish teamed up with junior Sarah Clay (Damascus, MD) and freshman Brittany (Waldorf, MD - Friendly H.S.) to capture first place in the 4x100 Meter Relay, clocking in with a time of 47.37.

            Rodriguez won the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 10.79 and placed fifth in the 200 Meter Dash (22.22).  Aaron Johnson came in third in the High Jump finals (1.98m) and Sean Johnson placed fourth in the Triple Jump (13.46m).  Complete meet results can be found on the BSU Athletics web site.
