BSU'S CASSANDRA CLAYBORNE TO RECEIVE BEYA AWARD AT STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Career Group, Incorporated has
selected Bowie State University sophomore Cassandra Clayborne as an
honoree at the 27th Annual Black Engineer of the Year Association
Conference.
Clayborne will receive national recognition, along with other
outstanding college students, in front of an audience of over 1,000
STEM professionals and college students at the Student Leadership
Awards Dinner – February 8, 2013 at the Washington Marriot
Wardman Park Hotel. The BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference
will be co-hosted by the Northrop Grumman Cooperation.
The Damascus (Md.) native was a member of the 2012 CIAA
Commissioner’s All-Academic Second Team, maintaining a
perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA over the 2011-2012 academic year as a
Biology major.
Cassie, as she is affectionately known, led the Lady Bulldogs
softball team in Runs Scored (46), Triples (2), Stolen Bases (16)
and At Bats (126) and was selected as the CIAA Rookie of the Year
as well as being named to the All-CIAA First Team.
