Allie Kolezynski Named Capital One Academic All-American

MURFREESBORO – Chowan University softball player Allie Kolezynski has been named to the 2010-2011 Capital One Academic All-America Second Team, as well as the Capital One Academic All-District First Team.
 
Student-Athletes are nominated for the awards by current CoSIDA members, who then vote for Academic All-District First, Second, and Third Teams. Those Student-Athletes who are named to the Academic All-District First Teams are placed on the Academic All-America ballot. The final Academic All-America Teams are then voted on by Academic All-America Committee members and the current CoSIDA Board of Directors.
 
Kolezynski, a business administration major, has amassed a 3.93 GPA. Earlier in the year, she was named to the CIAA Commissioners All-Academic Team. She started all 53 games for the Hawks softball team this year, leading the team in at-bats (173) and opponent's batting average (.254).
